Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known as, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have an enormous following in The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford went missing from the music scene for several years after both albums failed to become popular. The year was 1988, when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Both the single "Kiss Me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years.
