Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul musician, actor and songwriter. She's won an Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nominations are also an honor for her. Andra is not simply a throwback R&B artist, but also a gospel singer. Her jazz roots and blues are displayed in a way that's effortless and sophisticated. Stand Up for Something, her 2017 contribution to Marshall's score for the film Marshall received her the Academy Award as well as an Academy Award and a Grammy. Amen (2018) Take Care of Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) are continuing to create the anticipation of Day's upcoming full album. Andra Day was born Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts as well as performed in church. As she grew up and listened to music of the present, she was a fan of contemporary R&B music, and later pop. However, her heart was always drawn to classic soul and jazz singers. Kai Millard Morris caught her performance and donated the music of Day to Stevie Wonder. The Motown legend in turn became acquainted Day with music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day was a part of Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, grew a popularity on YouTube, and was signed to Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut track Forever Mine. The song was immediately picked up by DJs who began broadcasting it to the radio. After signing in 2015 to Warner Bros. Records she started working on her debut album Cheers To The Fall with Adrian Gurvitz. The album featured Rise Up which has become an international anthem of social justice movements. The album received nominations two times for Grammys. The album was nominated as Best R&B Album. In 2019 she released her second album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album about the life of the legendary jazz vocalist. In addition, she was a part of The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film about Holiday. Andi Matichak is an American actor. She first appeared in television series like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her film debut as Allyson Nelson on the horror movie series Halloween as well as the sequels. Andi matichak is an American actor who was born in Framingham on the 3rd of May 1994.
